Bayviewtonga - general views |
Bayviewtonga - your vacation homeMake a Bayviewtonga apartments your vacation home and you will have first rate accommodation, a great natural setting and a central location, away from the hustle and bustle of town yet close to town's amenities, including whale watching, scuba diving, snorkeling and other tourist related activities. The most attractive feature of Bayviewtonga is its location. Located on a small peninsula, just to the west of Tonga's only bridge, our site is one of the coolest spots in Vava'u. With water all around, we have natural air conditioning. Return from a warm shopping trip to town and you will appreciate the difference. You will also appreciate having great swimming right at your doorstep, swimming in water that is warm and crystal clear. We have three apartments and they have been given names--Sandalwood, Heilala, and Coral. You can read more about them under the accommodation section below and photos are included for each apartment in the left hand column. Our apartments are clean, spacious and have good cross ventilation. They come with full amenities, well furnished and each complete with kitchen, sitting room, bedroom en suite with bathroom, and private veranda. All are provided with hot water and fans. Their views are spectacular, arguably the very best in Vava'u. Yet our rates are at the low end of the accommodation market here. Compare and we think you will agree that Bayview offers the most for your vacation dollar.

A Bayviewtonga apartment is designed to serve your basic vacation needs with the added convenience of a natural waterfront setting. Bayview's proximity to major tourist facilities, including restaurants, dive shops, chartered sail and boat tour operations, means that you will have easy access to all tourist activities and a resort quality accommodation without the high added cost that having these facilities in house would entail. |

Your hosts at Bayviewtonga are owners Dr.and Mrs. Larry Read. They have lived in Vava'u for the past fifteen years, although Malia was born here. Larry has a background in marine studies and has a strong interest in the sea. Malia was trained as an elementary school teacher and has also taught high school English. She has an interest in traditional Tongan weaving and makes handicrafts in her spare time. As a family business, all family members pitch in with one overriding priority - the comfort and enjoyment of their guests.
The location of Bayiewtonga is its most attractive feature. It is located on a natural site where local canoes once were launched taking people from the western villages across the mouth of Vaipua lagoon on their journey into town. This was before the causeway and bridge were built in the late 1980s. The bridge (currently for foot traffic only) brought the main town of Neiafu within easy reach, only 2 to 3 km away.
Bayviewtonga is especially attractive to those who plan to stay a week or more, because it offers the significant economy of preparing meals at home rather than depending on restaurants. For the occasional night out, fine restaurants are only a short distance away
The waters off the wharf and into the adjoining cove make for great swimming and snorkeling, with a variety of attractions including fish, coral, and interesting sandy areas. The area is rich in fish life and whales have sometimes been known to rear their young in the cove and deeper waters off the wharf. Couple this with a site naturally rich in plant and bird life and you have a nature lover's paradise.

Note: Add $10 per night for stays of four nights or less.
Off season rates (November through April): Deduct 10% from apartment rates.
Payment to be made in cash (Tongan pa'anga). Exact amount will be determined when payment is made using <xe.com> currency converter. |

Bayviewtonga is only 2 to 3 km from Neiafu, depending on which route you take. That makes it a 5 minute ride by car or a twenty minute walk through peaceful village settings. The airport, at the northern end of Vava'u is also close, about 9 km, or a fifteen minute car ride. As a vacation base, our location is superb, you get the best of both worlds, a peaceful, natural setting, yet close to shopping and tourist facilities. Check us out, you'll like what we have to offer!
